How can too much choice destroy happiness?

How can too much choice destroy happiness? I found yet another amazing TED talk today. This one is by Dan Gilbert, and it was a real eye opener for me. I have always been somebody who wanted to have freedom of choice. I have chosen to give up my job to seek a simpler, happier life. But this TED talk shows how having too much choice can actually reduce our happiness. When we are in situations where we have no choice, we accept the way things are and find a way to be happy. Where we can influence the situation, it seems that the doubts about whether we have made the right choice make us much unhappier than if we had no choice in the first place. It’s quite remarkable. This ties in nicely with my belief that simplifying my life, and reducing the number of choices I need to make, will make me happier overall.

Project 365

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 327 days to go!

Why not check in on a regular basis to see how I am progressing, and what I have discovered?

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
