How can I teach myself to improve my memory?

How can I teach myself to improve my memory? I have just watched this fascinating TED talk by Idriz Zogaj, about how to train our brain to memorize information. He shows us a technique that we can all use, of creating vivid animated stories, in order to remember information. The more bizarre the story, the better, as we tend to forget the more obvious things.

When we let our brain have fun in this way, be become fully focused on the task, which helps our brain to remember. Our brains use around 20% of our daily energy intake, regardless of what we are doing. By strengthening the connections between neurons, we can remember information for longer. The brain naturally forgets information where there are weak connections, which is the normal function of the brain. It sorts our what is important in order to remember it. However, we can actively tell the brain what to remember, and make the connections stronger, so we remember for longer. All it takes it learning some techniques, and a bit of practice. I look forward to trying to improve my own memory in the future using these tips!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 286 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
