How can I strengthen my relationships? I have just watched this brilliant TED talk by Dr. Andrea & Jonathan Taylor-Cummings about what they feel are the most important parts of successful relationships.

They talk about the four key habits which we can all use to help strengthen our own relationships.

1 – Be curious not critical. This helps us overcome the frustration that comes from unmet expectations.

2 – Be careful not crushing. This helps us to overcome poor conflict resolution styles, so we can move towards genuine resolutions no matter how angry we may feel.

3 – Ask, don’t assume. This helps us to overcome the mistrust and disrespect that can build up in relationships, and replace it with honest conversations.

4 – Connect before you correct. This helps us to offer real value when we communicate, rather than feeling the need to offer constructive feedback.

I love these tips, and will try to use them to strengthen my own relationships!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 237 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
