How can I stop my thoughts from controlling my life?

How can I stop my thoughts from controlling my life? I have just watched this brilliant TED talk by Albert Hobohm about how we can stop thoughts controlling our life. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I find this idea fascinating.

Albert asks us to consider whether our thoughts help or hinder us in achieving our goals. He believes that our distracted minds are caused by over stimulation.

We are free to choose our thoughts and design our own life. Our reality is a reflection of our thoughts.

Albert has two tips for stopping our thoughts from controlling us.

1 – Practice meditation, so we can direct our thoughts more constructively

2 – Restrain our mental and physical input, by taking care over what we eat and the information we absorb

Our brains were designed to promote survival in an environment of scarcity. We need to act more consciously, and take responsibility for our thoughts and reactions, which will allow us to grow and move towards our goals.

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 206 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
