How can I regain my creative confidence?

How can I regain my creative confidence? I absolutely love this TED talk by David Kelley, about how we can build up our creative confidence. We all have a fear of judgement, and often this is why we don’t allow ourselves to explore our creativity.

The psychologist Albert Bandura has developed a process called guided mastery to help people overcome their phobias. People who go through this process end up have less anxiety in other areas of their life too, and gain a confidence which Bandura calls self-efficacy. This is the sense that you can change the world, and can achieve what you set out to do.

In a similar way, David Kelley takes people through a series of steps to turn their fear of creativity into familiarity. People surprise themselves, and are transformed. David has committed to helping as many people as possible regain their creative confidence. He says that once people do this, they start to work on the things that are really important in their lives. They come up with more interesting ideas, and make decisions that can help to change the world.

Self-efficacy and creative confidence sound like fantastic concepts to me, and are areas that I am going to focus on in my own life going forward!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 244 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
