How can I improve my financial wellness?

How can I improve my financial wellness? I love this TED talk by Brent Hines, about financial wellness.

Brent tells a very personal story about the journey he has been on to achieve financial wellness.

He thinks the main problem is our culture. Growing up, he listened to Zig Zigler talking about Be, Do, Have. Out culture now is all about having what we want, now.

If we move a few steps back, to the beliefs and behaviours, we can make positive changes to our financial habits.

Brett’s challenge to us is to define our own version of financial wellness, and then once we have defined it, to clearly state the behaviours that will get us there, and also to change any self-limiting beliefs that get in the way of achieving it.

He also suggests we don’t buy into the advertising and marketing that cause so many people to get into financial difficulty in the first place.

I think this is a great message and I am going to put his tips into action today!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 200 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
