How can I achieve my ambitions?

How can I achieve my ambitions? I have just watched this fantastic TED talk by Stephen Duneier, which talks about how we can achieve our most ambitious dreams. It is less about skills or talent, and more about decision making and problem solving.

A marginal improvement in the process has a huge impact on the end result. We are increasing the probability of success with every little decision, and this is achievable by all of us. If we change our approach, and break down tasks into what we can achieve by focusing for 10 minutes, we will make huge progress.

Stephen has successfully used this technique throughout his education and career, as well as to achieve his personal goals. He has successfully challenged himself to learn a new language, learn to fly and skydive, do a half marathon, read 50 books in a year, and complete 24 New Year’s Resolutions. He has achieved a world record for the largest crocheted granny square.

Stephen was a child who struggled to focus for more that ten minutes, and he feels he has no special gifts or talents. He simply chose to break down complex projects into small tasks, and make marginal improvements along the way.

I found his talk a huge inspiration, and I intend to set a few goals of my own in the very near future!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 285 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
