How can gamification improve my life?

How can gamification improve my life? I have just watched a very interesting TED talk by Yu-kai Chou about how gamification can improve our world. Gamification takes the fun, exciting element of games and applies them to boring, mundane tasks of real life. The power of play can then be used to drive real productivity.

Yu-kai believes there are eight key drivers that motivate us, and so using these in gamification will lead to a real motivation to improve.

1 – Epic meaning and calling

2 – Development and accomplishment

3 – Creativity and feedback

4 – Ownership and possession

5 – Social influence and relatedness

6 – Scarcity and impatience

7 – Unpredictability and curiosity

8 – Loss and avoidance

Gamification sounds like a really fun way to help us improve our productivity and move towards our goals, and I will be introducing it into my life straight away!

Project 365

I set up this website after deciding that I want to build a more creative life for myself, so I can give up my job and be in control of my own destiny.

I have set myself a goal of publishing an article on my website every day this year, to document my journey from employment to self-employment.

The name I chose was Project 365 because I see this as a year that I have dedicated to learning and self-development, as I countdown to freedom. It started on 1st January 2021, so I have 251 days to go!

I have decided to set up a blog, and to document my adventures in life through it.
